Apparently a French gamer going by the name Surfeuze has become the first player to reach level 80 — which is the highest level you can achieve in "Guild Wars 2." According to the Massively blog
For an upper estimate it took me 134 hours and 39 minutes to get my thief to level 80, purely through open world map completion and story and with time spent sorting out the bank, chatting etc. but no significant periods just going afk.
The level 80 boost is worth it for any character that is not the first character you play to 80, Most people recommend playing your first char to 80 normally, but how "worth it" it is to skip this is highly subjective. Personally the only value I see in it is to clear the shared inventory slot up to be able to be used for more important things :)
The Level-80 Boost is an item available to all players who purchase Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, and will allow you to boost one character on your account
Daily Login Chests will be gone. Alt Account farmers in Shambles. Multiple Accounts will actually have to play the game. The daily login has not disappeared, you will get 5 points from the new system just for logging in, and 10 for each daily quest. But now you can only focus on buying mystic coins.
You can look at gw2crafts for the price and most optimal way of doing it. The last time I power levelled an alt (from level 1) it took 6 crafting professions to 400 and maybe a few (<10) Tomes of Knowledge. I always check the totals page and choose the cheapest first and work my way up. WvW and PvP reward tracks give tons of Tomes of Knowledge

You will no longer level up once you are 80 in HoT, the experience that you would have previously built up and repeatedly leveled with will now be used to train mastery tiers. Tiers take various amounts of XP to train dependent on how advanced they are (basic gliding vs ley line gliding for example).

Guild Wars 2 Discussion. Increasing level cap. So I was wondering if we should increase the lvl cap to 100 with the next expansion. In my opinion always being lvl 80 is very boring and having to level up again at 80 can be fun I think (in form of elite zones e.g).Also armor should either be adjusted or newly crafted.
