First of all, Guild Wars 2 mounts are often mentioned in many respectable gaming media as the best mount system in any MMO. They do not trivialize each other and they are more than just fast travelers. They take skill, specially the might Griffon. I oppose against making the Griffon easier to fly.
Mounts already invalidate almost all content as is, and having a flying mount that could fly forever would invalidate all content completely. By forcing players to land, it creates the chance for said player to get demounted and have to interact with the world, which wouldnt happen otherwise.
WoW used to be for all players with, solo, casual, & hard (elite) content. It is now for Mythic+ lovers & those who don't mind being grounded & losing their flying mount functions.
